Oil rig guy off coast of Ireland

He goes by the name Paul O’Brien and loves me after 3 days and now asked for eBay gift card so he can watch movies. The rig only operates with EBay (very fishy) he’s the engineer on contract , divorced 1 daughter in boarding school. Can never leave the rig etc and seems the story is mentioned here a lot however he did send a photo and then one of him and his daughter.

Anyone else deal with this one

I’ve had at least 5 or 6 men claim they’re engineers working off shore on oil rigs. I’ve only been on the FB dating app for a month. I’ve been able to spit the scammers so far and call them on it or simply block them.

We never progress to sharing last names. Communicating with 2 right now….a Thomas who claims his wife died of leukemia 5 yrs ago leaving him with twins who are now 15. Another one is named Joey and is also a petroleum engineer.

He uses a FaceBook page, comments on a photo, asks you to friend him. He sends a message via the Messenger app. He was filtered by Messenger and that is why he went to commenting on my photo. Then he will ask you to go to another app to "chat".

He sends photos and will even ask to video call. The video call is nothing more than a video on loop, he doesn't speak. I had reverse image searched and found only one questionable use of one of the photos. I searched the FaceBook name and where he said he owned his home. Nothing.

I questioned him and he was like "that's creepy that you're looking... can we change the subject." I was just waiting for when he was going to ask for something.

It only took 3 days and it was an Apple Card for his Apple Device. Yes, he still uses the child in boarding school act; this time it was a son. And he loved me the night he met me and called sweetie and darling and just couldn't wait to meet me and start working towards a happy family... he even wanted to plan Christmas already (it's not even February) and have me see the oil rig.

He never answered a question directly.... always indirectly, vague and evasive.

Paul O’Brien is one of the biggest scammers out there! They do not need EBay cards on Oil Rigs. He is using someone else’s photos to scam women. Do you know how expensive it is to send a child to Boarding School? Why would he need money from you?

He will continue asking for more and quickly get very nasty if you refuse to send him what he wants.

Stop sending him things and block him.

Take his photos and put them through yandex.images and timeye. You’ll see that he is using stolen photos. Every oil rig guy I met did too.
