Kevin Smith on a ship

I saw some posts on Kevin Smith tied to another post but there were no pictures. The only way to get his picture out there is to start a fresh thread.

You need to run from him as fast as you can. He is a smooth talker and is taking advantage of women when they are vulnerable.

His MO is to start conversations on games such as words with friends or thru Facebook. It starts out harmless and then within two days of talk he is madly in love with you.

His sob story is that his wife and daughter were killed in a car accident and now he is raising his grandson. He is on a ship for months at a time and his grandson is with a nanny. It starts with his grandson getting hurt and needing life saving medication that he asks you to help pay for because his bank accounts are frozen while he is on the ship.

Internet connection is always bad on the ship so he can never video chat or facetime.

He will charm you into wanting to meet him but in order for that to happen he needs you to help pay for the flight off his ship and his plane tickets to wherever you are. This ranges from $2500 to $12000. You make all the plans and at the last minute something happens and his company won't let him leave. Good luck trying to get your money back.

Even after all that he continues to tell you he loves you and he needs you to help save his grandson's life. "How can you let my grandson die?" "How will you feel if he dies?"

I am sharing two pictures he used. After doing some searching these pictures are actually of a very successful businessman Michael Holtz.

He got me don't let him get you too.

Kevin Smith finally found proof
by: Anonymous

I was very happy to see this post and pictures. I thought I had gone through this whole nightmare alone.

When I read this post as well as the oil rig scam post I thought I was reading my own story. It was almost a 100% match to my experience.

Mine started with innocent conversations with Words With Friends and then he asked to move to Hangout on Google. I had never even heard of it before but it turned out to be a very convenient form of communication. I found myself constantly checking my phone to see if there were any new communications from Kevin (or whatever his name is). As everyone else has stated his words and attentiveness won my heart from almost our first conversation.

I did not realize how miserable I was in my life until Kevin started giving me the attention I so needed. Kevin filled all of the holes that were in my life. The fact that we never talked or interacted live never raised any flags with me as I was blinded by love that I was so sorely missing.

Even when he first asked for money the reasons seemed reasonable so I never questioned and willingly sent him funds. All of the initial requests were to help his grandson with supplies and equipment that he needed for school. How can you argue with that so I sent the requested $1000. His grandson even emailed me to thank me personally for helping. How sweet.

Then the conversations turned to that he had to see me but need a loan to help pay for his trip to the US. Again like everyone else I helped with the up front portion he needed but refused to pay the crazy $10,000 back end he was asking for. So like everyone else, I sat alone in a hotel room expecting to get a call to pick him up at the airport.

It was at this point that I finally started doing some research and checking on some of the facts that Kevin had shared. I used the Catfish application to post the pictures Kevin had shared and it came back as everyone else found out to actually be successful businessman Michael Holtz.

As much as it hurt I understood that I was scammed and feeling like an idiot to have fallen for such a scam. Unfortunately when you hit rock bottom in your life you will fall for anything that looks like it will be a life changer.

The good news is that I have completely shutdown any communication and interaction with this man. The bad news is that I am out $2,500 which I will never see again.

I wish this could be made more public so that women see it before they get sucked in instead of having to share their sad story of how they fell for the scam.

I have learned a lot about myself and am using my new found strength to help rebuild a life that had crumbled.

Stay strong and believe in yourself.

Kevin Smith pictures
by: Beverly

Carrie, I have these two identical pictures. Went to look for Michael Holtz but could not find anything.

I also have pictures of his boy all bloody in a hospital. Pretty sad. He also sent me 3 or 4 pictures of what appears to be a gorgeous home. Kind of doesn't match someone working on a ship for 3 or 4 months in a row.

I have asked him when this job and tour on the ship will be over so we don't have to play these games anymore. I can't seem to get him to give me an answer.

Thank you so much for sharing the picture's as this is a big help. Let's stick together ladies and string him along until they can nail his butt. I can't believe I almost threw away my family for this guy.
