46 Engineer stuck in Nigeria

by Weakened Heart
(South Padre Island,TX)

This man worked as an Engineer for 25yrs and traveled to Nigeria with his son. Well, after a few weeks he asked for me to help him with the medicine $250.00 because he was infected but I refused.

Not because I didnt want to but because I could not affort it. We kept talking and I finally said he was lying and I chatted to him and I learned how to use the voice on yahoo to call him. I did and NOPE!! His voice did not even come close to a white male.

Then I told him to leave me alone. He lied. I stopped all communication with him. Then I think about 1 month later he emailed me again and we started chatting. Me again giving the benefit of the doubt we continued chatting. We were talking for about two months more and here we go again.

Now all his building supplies were being held by the port. They wanted $1500 so he may get the materials. I didnt have that kind of money and then he wanted me to open account and his broker Joe Collins would wire money there to the account and he can finish the project and come back home.

Well I refused.

He never got verbally abusive with me. I lost sleep worrying about him and his son. Then all I did was cry because of how close I felt for him then he was more pushy because he had a time limit.

I told him to take a picture the way I said I demanded so I'd know it was infact him that was on the photo. He refused. I said then u did lie to me. He keeps saying no.

I finally said goodbye. We both said our last goodbyes. I do wonder what if he was telling me the truth and may God forgive me if anything happens to him or his son. But why would he need money if he had 25 yrs of experience and responsibility of his son with him.

Yet he has traveled abroad before. Wouldnt he know how to handle situations like this? I still ask God to give me strength and guidance.

I lost my heart and I hope to gain the strength to revive it again.

Your story has me really concerned for a family member. What names where they using? Did the person ever claim they were returning to their "home state". If so did the date keep getting pushed back?

well he is back

He is saying that he loves me and he is tired of me asking for the pic. That he was going to send photo but that i will find another reason to start another argument about.

That there is no trust and he has lots to worry about over there. I compound the problem with questions .

Then he said I react with what my friends are telling me. That I should trust him in good faith. That if I was going to marry the pic or him. He said also that he can leave the project and not complete it and come to see me.

That he will contact me once he came back to the states. Asked him for a number to call him..

Dont feel bad for not helping this scammer
by: Anonymous

Don't you ever, for a single minute, feel bad for not helping this man on his demands. He's a scammer, no doubt about it. They work you so well cause they have the ability to play with your mind and feelings.

If he did not send a pic as you requested and you never see him live on camera, most probably he is not the one on his profile pic. Even more...most scammers claims to be engineers and what a coincidence...they work in an African country.

I have been twice tried to be scammed...once by a "British" engineer with a non british accent and all, and the other was an "engineer" working for the US government and sent to Africa with his little son with a heart condition and he asked me to send money for the medicine for his kid.

Would you believe that?
