Website Changes

You may have experienced a small amount of downtime over the last 24 hours on WatchForScams.com.

This is due to an upgrade of the security on the site.

If you look in the address bar at the top of your screen the address will now start with https://www instead of http://www

This extra layer of encryption makes the site more secure.

Google had made it clear that from July this year it would start displaying "not secure" on sites that didn't have this level of encryption [see Google article below]:

https://security.googleblog.com/2018/02/a-secure-web-is-here-to-stay.html

So now WatchForScams.com is even more secure for you to leave your submissions and comments on the site.

If you believe you have been a victim of this type of scam you should promptly report it to the IC3's website at www.IC3.gov. The IC3's complaint database links complaints together to refer them to the appropriate law enforcement agency for case consideration.

Remember - always watch for scams!

Steve
