Today a young man came to my door and exclaimed excitedly that he was starting up a new business and wanted 12 people to agree to have a carpet cleaned so that we would recommend the business.
I assumed it was a carpet cleaning business so let him clean a carpet. It was soon obvious that he and his boss were trying to sell a Kirby machine. I refused to buy, even at a reduced price but said they would have to finish the carpet as I did not want just a clean patch left in the centre and I would not have let them in in the first place if I had realised it was a scam.
