Scammer: Harry Beller, widower, UN Orthopedic doctor in Syria

Screenshot of part of the conversation with the scammer

A guy named Harry Beller contacted me on Facebook. He claimed he was from Florida, a widower, have a 15-year-old daughter, working on a contract with United Nations as an Orthopedic doctor in Syria since 2000 and planning to get retired soon.

I chatted casually with him on FB messenger as I was free and bored today after Christmas, nothing serious. After chatting for 10 minutes, he asked me to download Google Hangouts. I didn't like Hangouts but he insisted on using Hangouts. I disliked his attitude trying to control me. I started to feel suspicious as he wanted to chat on Hangouts and asked me my Gmail while he was the one started the chat on FB messenger in the first place.

Besides, his FaceBook has no posts, no friends, no description except saying that he works for the UN as a doctor in Syria.

His English was a bit strange too. He said he wanted to be a close friend with me. Things didn't seem logical and it is somewhat like a joke: a handsome doctor needs to look for a woman on the internet? no friends around and needed a close friend from the internet?? My heart told me that there is something wrong with that guy. To confirm that, I searched on the internet and found his photos on a website identifying him as a scammer.

He had used (or stolen) someone's pic and pretended to be an architect named xxxx William (couldn't remember that fake first name), and now became a fake Orthopedic doctor named Harry Beller.

I blew him off and blocked him on FB right away to stop him further getting my info. Later, he still texted me on Hangouts asking me why I had blocked him. Oh well, he is so stupid. Please don't forget to block him on Hangouts too.

James Harry
by: Anonymous

James Harry just opened a Facebook page with handsome pictures stated that he was an orthopedic surgeon from Norway.

Red flag was that on his Facebook page it states that "James Harry updated "her" cover photo" on (3) photos. And he only has (3) friends.

James Harry befriended me through messenger via Facebook but insisted that I chat on "whatsapp" or "gooogle chat".

Long story short James Harry fell in love with me instantly and said that I was the love of his life and he eternally wanted me to be with him and help him raise his 17 year old son that is in boarding school in Canada. He has been alone since 2018, since his wife died and wants to spend the rest of his breathing life with me.

Very persistent and hasn't asked for any money yet, but asks a lot of personal questions and like for you to send pictures of yourself. James Harry has yet to send me a picture of him and his son together.

Just beware, why would an orthopedic surgeon befriend someone on Facebook and then immediately wants to spend the rest of their life with that person. Makes no sense, so help me to make this make sense. You can't because this "James Harry" is a "fake and scammer".

Please beware!!!

Contacted me through FRANKSOCIAL the exact same week another scammer did (both never asked for $$$). I was too busy to text much & they preferred goggle chats, but I never went there with this doctor (ha/ha)

They both hinted they wanted to get remarried SOON / he sent me a photo of himself in very nice PJs in a well designed bedroom in the sheets - that was it!!! (Supposedly, his wife of 26 yrs died of cancer 5 yrs ago & he had an 11 yr old son in boarding school - alluded that they were from the St Paul, MN area)

Good Grief. I found a similar named doctor in Baltimore, MD around the same age???

Recently reached out to me on Facebook in a creepy manner through a fan page I follow, and immediately wanted to be friends by being charming, sharing too much personal information to a stranger.

Told me he has a son that is 13. Asked me if I was married or in a relationship, asking what I do for work, where do I live, etc. Being an Orthopedic Surgeon Military Doctor at United Nations on the Facebook profile living in Aleppo, Syria being from Boston, MA, I already thought it was too creepy for someone to reach out to me like that wanting to be friends.

More likely, if an account looks fake, it is fake. His English was not like an American speaks at all. Friends or connected with people from Africa on the profile who liked his photos.

A lady made a comment on his photo saying "hello scammer" and I showed him the comment, he denied her when he wanted attention from her and she refused it.

Was very persistent in loving and getting married and asking me to help him for food supply by giving 500 usd and then asked me to drop an email on HOD UN to ask his approval for leaving from there and coming to talk about wedding with family.

Fake surgeon Kingston Vincent in Syria
by: Anonymous

I was contacted via Instagram to befriend a surgeon in Syria with American and Italian citizenship. He claimed to be on a contract in Syria. Said his wife died in a car accident and also his brother died. Said his mother was born in Berlin. He was claiming early retirement.

He said his name was Kingston Vincent, that he was 54 and had a birthday in August and that he wanted to find a partner to re-marry and settle down with. He asked to chat on WhatsApp and texted me for about 4 days in a row. He just pretended to care and was very smooth talking, but his English grammar was bad. When I asked him for proof that he really was a surgeon in Syria he sent me a "photo" of himself.

He had thousands of followers on Instagram as well as followed thousands. He only had 8/10 posts which were photos of him. A good looking man in suits and green scrubs. He did not ask for money - but did ask lots of personal questions about me and my family etc.

Canadian Orthopedic Surgeon working for the UN in Yemen
by: Amanda

Hi everyone, I received a friendship request on Facebook from a gentleman by the name of Felix Workman. He claimed to be a widower from Ontario, Canada working in Yemen for the UN as an Orthopedic Surgeon and Captain in the Canadian Army. He has a 15 year old son attending boarding school in Virginia Beach, USA.

He was very soon talking love and marriage (I wasn't thinking that. Been there and done that twice already). He immediately wanted me to download the WhatsApp App claiming he wanted a secure link. He nagged and nagged and nagged for me to get the app. Once I did he went quiet. You all might want to know that the WhatsApp App has a Data Miner in the background program and will dig into your files, contacts, address books etc and link up with any names contained within them.

Anyway, the photos he shared with me were all from the Italian Model, Peppe Di Geogio's Instagram Page. The final one was actually really funny Because he put Peppe's face in a US Army Uniform, with a Sergeant First Class Insignia (don't forget he was suppose to be a Captain), with a Canadian arm patch. What an absolute mix match. The stock photo came from a Royalty Free site and easily found using google image search.

I eventually just gave up. Pointed all his mistakes out to him and said good bye. I also pointed out to him the geopolitical flaw to his thoughts about Canadians being on the ground in Yemen. Idiot.

Age 39, single, mother dies at the age of 9 and father is a sailor, no siblings.

He claims he wants to fly to my city to meet me then asks for $5000.00 to fly to the US to meet me.

Got very angry when I declined and sent a virus that destroyed my PC and printer.

Same old Same old
by: Anonymous

He's now called Dr Alex Williams, orthopaedic surgeon working in Syria for the UN. Widower, son in boarding school in U.K. His contract is almost up and the "security company" he deals with is folding up and after 3 days I'm the only one he trusts in the whole world lol.

He needed me to email

braintowntravel50@gmail.com

and pose as his wife to retrieve his box of money containing his life savings. Like in a digital world, who has a box of money. Also, from what he himself told me, he lives in a "mansion" in California with several expensive cars.

I knew he's been lying, but I played along up until this point. I have no intention of becoming someone's "mule." So I filed a complaint with the FTC on him. I'm not sure if I should report this to the local police. I guess I should. Probably when I tell him tomorrow, he'll get angry, and by him having my gmail info he might get even with me.

So if I go missing this message from me will be on file in a public forum. When he asks me tomorrow I'm going to send him the official copy of the FTC report and block him on hangouts too. Also, FYI it seems like every person who befriends me on Facebook these days is a widower/widow.

Like whats happening to every bodies spouses these days?

Michael Steven Smith Peterson
by: Janet M

Met this man Michael on Facebook, and he sent me to Google Hangout and we proceeded to get to know each other. I was finding that he was a Widower, UN Orthopedic doctor in Syria and he had one and half years left over there. His wife died in a car crash in the USA with their daughter, but he had a 14 year old son going to Private School in Manchester UK.

There were several things that I knew was not right and questioned him and when I did he got defensive and angry if you can with texting someone.

I read these Scammer comments and they are similar to what I went thru. I have deleted my Google Hangouts, and deleted him on Facebook. His passport was sent to me with the right name but there was several other names on the passport.

Steven Caleb, and Austin Smith as well as Michael Peterson. My passport did not have any of those on and I asked him about them and he got angry again. Would only talk with him outside of the 7 hours difference here to Syria.

I just encountered this guy today and he's going by Ben Hilton from Dallas, TX. He says he's a widower with a 12 year old daughter and is a researcher with the UN in Syria. I entertained him for a while but I knew he was a scammer.

He had 5 different FB pages. He tried to coerce me in to downloading WhatsApp but I rejected him with a strong NO. When I informed him that I was a veteran with friends over there and wanted to setup a meet-up with them to verify his identity, he said he couldn't talk anymore and unfriended me. LOL

Raymond Robert orthopedic surgeon from Alabama working in Syria and Afganistan
by: Anonymous

Hi Ladies, I need to warn you about this guy. He said he is 42 year old Spanish and that his parents and older sister died in a car crash when he was 4 and his uncle took care of him but he died of a blood cancer and after that he ended up in an orphanage.

He was in Syria for 6 months but recently he is in Kabul. He gives the correct time difference between countries. He has three dogs and he was in three serious relationships, one woman died at childbirth. He sends romantic songs from YouTube and called me love, dear, queen, darling, etc.

He wanted to introduce me to another guy who would help me with bitcoins. Of course he wants to marry me and have another child because I have two. He use grammar incorrectly. He didn't want money just pictures to "make him horny". He studied in university of Alabama but there is no record of him anywhere and when I searched all orthopedic surgeons in Alabama there is none of this name and surname.

He is very handsome but he is not looking like 42 year old and when I tried to search his photos on Google I didn't find anything.

Be careful Ladies because fairytales like this don't exist in real life.

Fred Scott Orthopedic Surgeon on Clubhouse
by: Anonymous

So this just happened yesterday & I awaken to a feeling after yesterday. I was requested to add WhatsApp to get to know each other better. I downloaded it and advised him I did so & this morning there was a request for my number to be added.

At that point I decided umm let me Google this Fred Scott Orthopedic Surgeon from Senegal 🇸🇳 who lives in Miami but "working the UN in Syria 🇸🇾 working with military". Bio only stated he was from Senegal & lived in Miami. Nothing about being a doctor.

He then told me he was a widower of 2 yrs with a 15yr old daughter. He said he was 52. When I inquired what it was he did in Syria he only stated working with the military. He asked what I did & I stated I also work in Healthcare on the admin side. What was a simple interaction via the clubhouse messaging made me wonder why he was asking for the WhatsApp & when he asked for my number I hard paused to review our previous interaction thoroughly.

My research led me to this site to read similar stories with some exactly the same just a different name.

Needless to say WhatsApp deactivated & Uninstalled. Not giving him my number and blocking him from clubhouse.

Stay vigilant & aware ladies & gentlemen.

Harry James UN Surgeon..widower
by: Anonymous

He was fascinated by my looks and he said that is why he requested me to add him on my fb account. Now he is requesting whatsapp and according to him it is better than messenger. Same as all of you in that he never answered my questions directly.

I told him that his fb account is just fake with no likes at all. No info only that he worked as a military surgeon under the Syrian government but of course I thought maybe it is because of his job. He told me his wife died a few years ago. He has 2 teenagers and he sent pictures of them and pictures of a handsome man with dogs (so sorry for the fake photos he used).

I told him it was the first time I added a foreigner in my fb account as we have mutual friend and thats why I added him. I told him that I heard a lot of stories about scammers and he reacted angrily to those people. I told him that I am going to pray for his situation and I told him also that I am married and blessed with 1 kid. He sounds so interested with me though I'm married. He already stalked all my photos "be my friend" and he told me my plan is to share with him "JESUS" my savior.

Praying he didn't grab any of my pictures on my fb as he liked them and even my child's photo. He asked about my Job and how many years I was working so I'm wondering why he asked about that and since last night I'm searching about his name and his photo until I found out this.

The last message is good morning...message me if you have whatssapp and then I blocked him on my fb account. God bless you sir whoever you are hoping and praying that you stop doing this..!!

This same scam recently happened to me. A man named John Goodluck said he was working in Syria under a contract for the U.N. he sent me a friend request on Facebook and asked to chat only on the Hangouts app. I was already suspicious about why he wanted to only chat on Hangouts.

He even wanted to create a Gmail account for me if I didn't have one. He also said he had a 15 year old daughter named Penny who is in a boarding school while he is away. He said he was divorced. Anyway, after a few days of chatting he told me he loved me and wanted to marry me. He asked for a pic of my ATM card and I refused.

Another day he asked me to email some General to ask for a vacation leave. I asked him why he can't email the General, he said only a family member can request for his release.

Just yesterday I blocked him. I told him if he is not a scammer then he can meet me in person to talk about a relationship lol

He tried one final time before I blocked him to ask me to open a bank account for him!

Jeff Brown orthopaedic surgeon
by: Anonymous

I was followed by a guy on twitter with the name Jeff brown from Atlanta Georgia. He asked if we could chat and I never thought too much about it until he started wanting to chat everyday. He said he was in Syria with the UN and his contract was up in 3 months.

He asked to chat on hangouts as apparently it was 'safer'. I did find this a bit odd but put it down to him being 'American'. He started to send messages in the morning saying To my friend and making references to God, and he came over as 'needy'

He also called me "dear' and asking questions about if I would get married again. His story was his wife had been killed in a plane crash in Brazil in 2013 and had been 4 months pregnant with his 2nd son. His son was 13 and in boarding school.

I started to sense something was off as why would a doctor have to track women down on the Internet and when I searched about the accident he got the year wrong it was 2007, also why would a doctor (caring person) leave their son at boarding school for 3 years?

Didn't seem right. His grammar was also not correct at times and also his language/tone didn't seem American more European. He actually stopped sending me messages as I was not buying into what he was wanting and must have thought he wasn't getting anywhere with me.

After a bit of research I realised he was a scammer. I found his Facebook page and checked some of his photos and one is of a plastic surgeon and the other was an optician!!!

He claimed to be deployed to Yemen. Asked me to communicate on Telegram which I did. He started getting very romantic and claimed to love me even though we never met or even spoke. Texted me constantly. I started getting suspicious and then he asked me if I could send him a gift card to get food in Yemen.

That’s when I deleted everything and then I saw his dating profile was deleted. His name on profile was Dean Morgan Travis. He was on FB dating but I couldn’t find him on FB.

Well, when things started moving toward him needing money to leave his job, is when the spell was broken. That didn't make sense to me.

My one was called "Andrew Scott" and we "met" playing a quiz game on line. Same old bollocks, wife died in childbirth 7 years ago, my son, Gabriel needs a mother. Well over the top from day one, it was fate etc, do you believe in love at first sight blah blah blah.

Same as the others, Orthopaedic surgeon with the UN in Tehran. I work in orthopaedic trauma theatre as a nurse, but he didnt have a clue. I wouldn't have let him cut my toe nails! His written English was appalling, which made me initially suspicious. He said that he was born in Barcelona, but had lived in Orlando Florida all his life. He said his mother is 84 and Lives in Texas.

He DID get the time difference right, I will give him that. When a man loves you after a few texts, they must think women are stupid. I even called him out on being a scam from our first text conversation.

Again, they were no answers to direct questions, like I asked him what he had done today at work The reply was "work work work". He said that his birthday was on 24th December and that he was a gemini. The twat.

He asked me to send his son a birthday gift card, his birthday is on 20th December and that I should send £50 or £100, and that I could get one from Walmart. When I told him there was no Walmart in England, he thoughtfully added, Tesco.

I called him out on the scam, and he went off in a huff, saying that he was going to bed. I will give anybody £100 if I hear from him again!!
Again shite pictures of roses, inspirational yuk!

I am sad about it, because "Andrew" really seemed lovely, and vehemently denied it was a scam, and that I was somehow, mistrusting.

OK, lesson learned.

The trouble is, If a meet a genuine guy, I wont trust him. The wall just goes up that bit higher.

This person lured me to get on Hangouts. He also fell in love immediately and asked if I believed in an online relationship and said that that is how his friends meet their wives. He said he is an Orthopaedic Surgeon working with UN in Yemen. He did request for money to be send to other individuals but not directly to him.

That’s unusual. He did say his wife died in a car accident. He has a daughter Vera in a boarding school. If you’re an orthopaedic surgeon why do you need money?

UN DR IN SYRIA William Roland
by: Anonymous

My scammer followed me on LinkedIn. He had so many followers! William Roland is a widower who lost his wife 5 years ago to breast cancer. He is an orthopedic surgeon in Syria. His 11 yr old son Mark is in boarding school in NY. He lost both parents as a child and was raised by a neighbor. He was born and schooled in Rome.

He wanted to chat on WhatsApp or Messenger. After chatting for a week he said his medical camp got bombed and 10 militants and 2 journalists were killed including his Arabic translator. He fears for his life and needs 5800 to escape Syria. He claims the UN has strict guidelines and his contract was to expire in December.

He has been with the UN for 35 years and plans on opening his own practice. He has displayed my photos of him working at his office in the UN. He claims to be 56 and his birthday is December 3rd. Claims he knows we are going to marry!!

You can see his picture if you go on LinkedIn and search for William Roland. He's the one with the beard and mustache and medical head scarf. The medical dr in the war camp zone.

This man is seemingly very romantic and charming. He seems to use the same picture in a suit and tie, just changes the face. He wants to marry us all ladies and he actually sent an email from his 2 kids Alvin and Sonia who now are in New York in boarding school.

They requested to call me mom. I knew something was wrong from the beginning but wanted to see how long it took him to slip up. Hadn't asked me for money yet but made the mistake last night stating that he could not wait to come to my country to marry me.

Of course he tried to talk his way out of his mistake. Could have waited for him to try and get money out of me but I have better things to do. My advice is to ignore anyone who requests you go to this chat room he likes. This is the second time that I have been scammed and I didn't catch on the first time and fell for all the crap he gave me and that mistake cost me.

Remember if he looks to good to be true, chances are that he is.

Yes the same MO. Orthopedic Surgeon on a 5 year contract, expiring soon. Lives in Southern California, and has a 13 year old son in boarding school in the UK. Started on Facebook, asked me to go to Google Hangouts, and then started telling me I looked like an Angel.

Unfortunately these are all lies from what I'm reading.

Lucky my sister told me to delete everything and block him all around, and change all my passwords which I did.

by: Anonymous

Contacted via Facebook. Extremely good looking from Austin, Texas, a widower with 11 year old daughter Nancy Adams attending Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, Spain. Video chatted me for less than 2 minutes.

Sends photos of self and of flowers. Tells me He loves me with all his heart. Daughter calls me Mom. Both use email. He likes to use Hangouts and uses What’s App with me. Trying to get me to give him $5,000 for emergency surgery if daughter in Dpsin and promises to pay me back.

Really pressuring and obnoxious about having to have the money wired into a special account. He’s played me all along as no doctor would not have money. Plus hospitals will work with you regarding payment.

Wants me to move in with him in his house in Austin when he returns to US. Always avoids answering any questions I have and asks me the same questions over and over. I have photos and emails. New Facebook page of him has an unknown with other photos and his later in photos.

Told him about it and he was mad. He will continue to try to get money out of me until I own up to him that I know he’s playing me and others.

Ladies do not fall for any guy who won’t answer your questions honestly and who will use you to get your money. These are imposters probably from other countries. The use of old English in emails are tell tale signs.

Be careful and safe out there.

Scammer on dating sites saying he's an Italian UN Orthopedic Doc
by: Rachel

Hi all,

He struck again on Plenty of Fish. According to him his "base" was here outside of Kansas City in a small town called Blue Springs. Over and over he could not answer basic questions like, what do you like about KC? When did you move here? How did you end up here.

I am a professionally trained opera singer and tried to engage him in some simple Italian conversation on the phone and he insisted he had connection issues.

He does NOT speak Italian!

Here's a site where I did a reverse lookup and found all his fake photos. Granted, he's very hunky, but like the other posts, his flowery and flattering language was just TOO uncomfortable for me.

His daughter wrote me, she needs money from her father. His voice as he called me and has an accent, I would say African.

He always repeats: its the first time he visited a meeting site, he is impatient. Doesn’t speak a lot, writes boring poems to be romantic, whenever I want to cut off the conversation.

Please be aware of Martin Lucas, he contacted me through LinkedIn three days ago and wanted to "marry" me. He called me honey and dear way too much to the point that was uncomfortable.

He claimed to have a 13 year old kid named Jaidan and lived in Atlanta, Georgia. That he had worked for 30 years for the Un as an orthopedic surgeon in Damascus, Syria. He was planning to retire soon. He told me a lot of his "life stories" that moved my heart but my instinct told that it couldn't be real. He sent some pics of him and his son and he said he was 65 years old and in the pictures looked younger and very handsome. And you know, super caring, lovely, and charming. He was straightforward.

Finally when I was searching something about him, I found this website that caught my eye and when I began to read everything I was shocked. For him, it was morning and said hello and sent a music video!!! Automatically without saying anything, I asked for his identifications and of course he didn't send them to me.

Finally I blocked him.

Claimed he was a widower, wife died in child birth, his son was in a military boarding school. His uncle died from cancer. We chatted on hangouts, he could never talk to me on the phone or video chat with me. He wanted to get his 15 million from his contract as the place that held it was closing due to the covid-19.

I would have to send $5000 us$ to get the money sent to me. He loved me , I was his etc bla bla. I found the person whose photos he had stolen, I contacted that person but there is nothing he can do.

So I pretended to have sent the money, then I shamed Dr Paul Brown on twitter he has since blocked me, he threaten me, told me I had no idea what he was going to do to me. That he was going to come to my house.

Avoid Alexander Franklin
by: Anonymous

If anyone receives a Facebook friend request from Dr. Alexander Franklin (middle name Isaac) it's a fraud. The Facebook photo is of a good looking middle aged man. Claims to be a Neurosurgeon on the 6th year of a 9 year contract in Syria. On Facebook, we shared a mutual friend. I've known this mutual friend decades - I inquired as to how he knew Alexander. He had never heard of him & promptly removed the bogus friend.

I decided to see what this guy was about - what he'd want, etc. He insisted on chatting on Hangouts. When I refused, he agreed to use email but about 3 days later, asked for Hangouts again - said its faster and less subject to unwanted scrutiny. "Alexander" is graduate of Boston University & did his residency at Mass General. He lost his wife 6 years ago - has a 17 year old son at the Coast Guard Academy. Some of his writing was quite stilted and odd.

Colloquialisms & slang elicited odd responses. They must not be programmed into the scammer playbook. If my questions or responses were basic, his responses sounded fine. Of course, he fell in love within 24 hours. I kept waiting for him to request $, but his request was different. He wanted me to apply for him to take vacation time. Said that only the wife or significant other can apply to the UN for the vacation request. This is to keep men from going off to see mistresses. Had not seen in his in 6 years, because he had no one to request his vacation (as a minor, his son couldn't make the request).

I asked how the UN would possibly allow such a request from a virtual stranger. He had an answer for that too. He will be called in for an interview - and in the interview he will see to it that I'm no stranger. Then he asked - what I thought was the worst thing that could happen if I made the request. Trying not to laugh as I typed, I suggested that offering to sponsor a stranger from Syria sounded damn shady. He said I didn't understand UN protocol & our great love affair is now over.

Please don't fall for this guy's garbage & don't provide any important information. If you want to string him along and waste his time for a few days, have fun.

Just remember, it's a scam.

Orthopedic surgeon working for UN
by: Anonymous

I am a man, and i met an Orthopedic surgeon on shaadi.com (indian dating website) who claimed to work part time at the Boston Medical center but full time at UN and had a 10 year contract. Said she has been asked to go to Syria. I asked to meet her in person and gave her an address of a public gas station to meet. She said she would meet me there but she was not there when i got there.

She has an EX in Connecticut and a 5 year old girl. She sent me pictures which seemed normal.
Said she had to leave as her daughter was crying, etc. She would always be busy and would call late at night because she had to be called into emergency surgery.

I tried to trace her phone and it clearly is not a mobile phone (comes up as a landline in MA) and not a typical phone company. I called Boston medical and they said no one by that name works there.

I was contacted through Facebook with a friend request by a Dr. in Syria, also an orthopedic surgeon. His wife died in a car accident and left him with a 10 year boy in boarding school in the UK. He claimed his birthday was on Easter Sunday and could I please send him some birthday money.

Also needed a plane ride from Syria paid for up front, that I could wire the funds and was provided with an email address for the UN agent that was a gmail account, and I thought this was strange.

Now he wants me to mail the funds to California in order that he can come to the US and we can live happily ever after.

I was fortunate enough to have sufficient funds to do this but have not to date.

Now after reading the above I too shall block him. I actually was hoping he was real

So glad I found these stories that show the true personality of this scumbag. Says he’s a 43 year old widow with a 14 year old son, Alex. Son is at a military boarding school, and that he is originally from San Francisco. States he’s an orthopedic surgeon who is located in Yemen. States his wife died, only child, his parents died when he was 15. Says he saw their dead bodies when came home from school.

If he’s had time to spend formulating a response, everything was worded well. With spur of the moment responses, they are very disjointed and does not seem like the same person who wrote the more formal messages.

Tried to find his medical license number and tax ID, and found nothing. He will only use hangout to talk to you. Blocked him on all social media accounts.

I asked him several questions since I know Orthopedics but he wouldn't answer my questions. Instead he would change the subject and accused me of not opening my heart to love. Please be careful out there. I have teenage children and they have talked about all the scams out there and that is the only reason why I continued the conversation with him for two days. That man has left me to traumatized

I met one guy on Shaadi.com on November 24th 2018. He sent me an invitation named Farhan Amin with his phone number to chat on what's app. He claimed himself a general surgeon and a member of Canadian General Surgeon Association and serving for UN in Syria and end of December he will be retired. Only child of his parents and widowed no children. Originally from Pakistan grew up in Vancouver.

After 1 week chatting he said he likes me and every day sent me romantic notes and music video. But never a phone contact or video call. I fell in love with him as well. He said he is getting ready to meet me in Canada. One night he sent me a message that there is a rebel attack and they were ordered by their commander to remove their valuable belonging before they get attacked by rebels.

He messaged me to send my full name and address because he wants to send his surgical robot and other equipment to my place for safety reasons. I denied to give him my mailing address because without seeing him I didn't feel it's safe for me. After that he never contacted me.

I still don't know what was his intention but he left me in deep pain. I was traumatized for a month and cried every day. I am still in depression. Anybody know that that man please contact with me. I want to ask him only one question why did he do that to me.

Same story or similar. He contacted me via Instagram. Stated he was from Norway and was in Syria working for the UN as orthopedic surgeon. Widower with a 14 year old son that goes to boarding school.

He asked if we could talk via WhatsApp, we text and them he called me but comunicatión wasn’t clear.

Dr Mark Richmond

Says he’s an orthopaedic surgeon from New York working for UN and based in Syria. Wife and daughter died in car crash 6 years ago and has 13 year old son in boarding school. Sent images of his wedding, children and lavish homes. Angered quickly when I said his story didn’t add up.

I have a cousin by that name and he is a doctor. Thought it was him. This guy said he was a doctor and so is my cousin. Weird coincidence. He said he went to school in San Francisco and he was an orthopedic surgeon. Doing work in Syria.

Sound familiar to anyone? It didn’t take me long to realize that he was onto something. He started messaging me at 7 o’clock in the morning. He was supposed to be a friend of a friend. When I went onto his face book page all of his friends which are four, are all ladies from Iran.

I may be old but I ain’t stupid. Watch out

Fake dr

I too had a fake dr in Syria - anerosigeo. My thought at first was we’re the same. How does a successful doctor need the internet for friends or dates. His name was Johnson Akute
